Rumor: Removed Gamestop Listing Mentions Second Playable Character For Resident Evil Requiem

A new leak has surfaced hinting at the second playable character for Resident Evil Requiem.

This leak comes from a now deleted listing for the game on Gamestop. Prior to being deleted, the listing mentioned cosmetic DLC for Rosemary Winters, the daughter of RE7 and RE8’s protagonist, Ethan Winters. This type of DLC is typically only reserved for playable characters, which suggesting that she will be the second playable character of the game alongside the main heroine Grace Ashcroft.

The Deluxe Edition includes the PC Steam Digital Code, a SteelBook Case, and the following digital content:

  • “The Sanctuary” Expansion Pass: Includes 2 new story scenarios and a major Mercenaries mode update.
  • “Morphic Visor” Cosmetic Filter: A unique cosmetic look for Rose’s visor.
  • “Shadow Walker” Costume Pack: 3 exclusive outfits for Rosemary Winters.
  • Digital Artbook & Official Soundtrack

However, many fans have questioned the legitimacy of this “leak”, pointing out that the timeline of the game does not match up to allow for Rosemary to be playable. Following official information provided by Capcom, Rosemary would still be a small child during the events of Resident Evil Requiem. This, alongside with the leaked description not mentioning the previously announced DLC for Grace’s costumes, has led fans to believe it may have been AI generated or misinformed, confusing Grace for Rosemary when it was written.

At the time of this writing, Capcom has yet to share any official info confirming or denying this rumor. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
