Rumor: Silksong Fans Believe News Will Be Shared During April 2025 Nintendo Direct
For several years now, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Silksong, the sequel to Team Cherry’s highly acclaimed Hollow Knight.
Recently, a member of Team Cherry changed their X/Twitter profile picture to an image of a chocolate cake, published a cryptic post saying “something big is coming” ahead of the Switch 2’s reveal trailer. As detailed by Hollow Knight fan and YouTuber ‘fireb0rn’, reverse image searching the chocolate cake leads to a recipe dated “2nd April” coincidentally the same date as the Switch 2’s full Nintendo Direct debut.
Okay i might be crazy, but this is William Pellen from Team Cherry’s twitter account;
if you reverse image search the pfp cake you get a link for a recipe article posted on April 2nd, the same day as the newly annouced Switch 2 direct.

Fireborn speculates that fans will finally get an update on the game during this Switch 2 direct, and launching alongside the Switch 2 could be the reason that Silksong was delayed.
“April 2nd is also the date of the next Nintendo Direct…Now the combination of the fact that this is nearly three months away and that Team Cherry knows how much we focus as a community on Nintendo Directs, it really can’t be a coincidence. The fact that this is also connected seemingly to the launch of the Switch 2 and the Switch 2’s announcement kind of indicates that maybe that had something to do with why Silksong was delayed, that’s kind of just a tin foil hat theory of mine…we can’t deny that there is some chance that this is an elaborate joke but I think that Team Cherry have received so much sh** from the community that I don’t think this is something they would joke about. And like I said, they have done ARGs in the past, that date can’t be a coincidence, it has to be meant for us to find.”
That said, we caution readers to take this speculation with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
