Rumor: Switch 1 Focused Direct Coming In February 2025
With the end of 2024 in the horizon, fans are eagerly awaiting more announcements from Nintendo for 2025.
According to industry insider PH Brazil, fans may have to wait a little longer for a major Nintendo Direct. Brazil claims that he has heard talk of plans for a Nintendo Direct in February 2025, which will still be primarily focused on the Switch 1. This is presumably in line with other rumors he has heard about Nintendo’s plans to release more remastered titles for the Switch 1, although these may not be saved for a Direct presentation if the Xenoblade Chronicles X reveal is any indication.
There will be a February, from my understanding, Switch 1-focused Direct. Might end up being just another Partner Showcase with a single/couple of first party game(s) shown, if even that, though. The Xeno X announcement makes me think Nintendo doesn’t care too much about showcasing these late ports in Direct presentations.
In Nintendo’s recent financial results briefing, the company stated that the Switch successor’s reveal is still planned for before the end of this fiscal year. If PH Brazil’s claim is to be believed, this leaves a much smaller window for this reveal to happen within the timeframe. It’s possible then that we may only get the reveal at the very end of Nintendo’s stated deadline, which would be March 2025.
As with all rumors of this nature however, we caution readers to take this with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
