See How Music Was Made Back In The SNES Days
Back in the day of the SNES, consoles had small memories, slow processors and generally not as great as those of today. So it was not really possible to include a full symphonic band recording like that of Breath of the Wild. Still, each game must have some musical accompaniment, and Game Composers have to find a way to put their works in.
Nerdwriter1 has made an awesome video showing how music was made on the SNES, how Game Composers have to think out of the box to fit their music in. It is definitely worth a watch/hear if you have time.
