Splatoon 3 Sells 2.7 Million Physical Copies In Japan In Three Weeks, 69% Of All Physical Game Sales For That Month

Gamesindustry.biz and Famitsu have shared the latest physical game sales for Japan, revealing more details about just how well Splatoon 3 has been doing in the country.

According to the latest figures, Splatoon 3 sold 2.7 million physical copies during its first three weeks on the shelves, accounting for 69% of all physical game sales for that month in Japan. This means that it sold better than all other physical game releases for that period combined, including the highly anticipated Dragon Quest X Offline, which released on multiple platforms.

This figure notably doesn’t include digital game sales, with the game having already crossed 3.45 million in combined digital and physical sales within the first three days of its launch. Obviously, these figures show that Splatoon 3 has turned out to be a runaway success for Nintendo, despite initial concerns about whether it could be enough of an upgrade over Splatoon 2.
