Switch Online Subscriptions Crosses 32 Million, Nintendo Says They Will “Continue To Improve And Expand” Expansion Pack
During Nintendo’s latest financial results briefing, the company revealed some updated figures for its Nintendo Switch Online service.
As of September 2021, Switch Online subscriptions have surpassed 32 million, an increase of around 6 million compared to last year. This figure presumably includes subscribers to the standard Switch Online service, as well as the new Expansion Pack that was released recently.
In the briefing, Nintendo also voiced their commitment to improve expand both the regular Switch Online service as well as the Expansion pack to “satisfy customers”. That said, they did not elaborate on what these plans might entail.
“Going forward, we will continue to improve and expand both Nintendo Switch Online and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, striving to provide services that satisfy customers.”
Given that the Expansion Pack in particular has been a bit controversial among fans, Nintendo may certainly need to look more closely at ways they can make the service more appealing to players. We will be sure to report back with more details as they come.
