Square-Enix has expressed a desire in the past of bringing Final Fantasy XIV to as many platforms as possible, and that includes Nintendo Switch. Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida reiterates that this desire hasn’t changed, and for it to happen on Switch, Nintendo must agree to cross-play and the ability to issue timely patches.

To reach out to as many players as possible, Square-Enix has been in talks with Nintendo and Microsoft to get Final Fantasy XIV, a MMORPG game, to Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.
