Following today’s Nintendo Direct, the official price of The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom has been revealed.

According to the updated store page, the upcoming sequel to Breath Of The Wild will retail for a base $69.99 USD. This pricing is higher than Nintendo’s standard price for first-party titles, which sits at $59.99 even for upcoming releases such as Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe and Pikmin 4.

This difference in pricing has sparked some discussion online, with many expressing concern whether $70 games will become the norm for Nintendo moving forward, similar to how other game publishers have been raising their prices as of late. Others have suggested that Tears Of The Kingdom looks to be of higher quality than other games Nintendo has planned, which explains why it alone has been given the $70 treatment and others have not.

That said, fans have also discovered a loophole to obtain the game for a reduced price. Tears Of The Kingdom is included among the games eligible for the new Game Vouchers promotion, meaning that players can use them to offset the price increase if there is another game on the list that interests them.
