There’s A Patch For Save Me Mr Tako But Nicalis Refuses To Release It
Today we have some strange news about Game Boy style action platformer Save Me Mr Tako, which was published by Nicalis last year.
According to Twitter user Indie Gamer Chick, the developer of Save Me Mr Tako had prepared a patch for the game but it was never submitted to Nintendo. It seems that Nicalis, the publisher for the game, refuses to release the patch and submit it to lotcheck:
Save Me Mr Tako has had a patch ready for a while, but publisher @nicalis hasn't published it yet.#ReleaseThePatch

Interestingly, Nicalis’ Tyrone Rodriguez responded and revealed the reason why they wouldn’t release it – the game isn’t profitable for Nicalis yet. He explained Nicalis does not have enough space in their budget to properly QA test the patch and since the game is not profitable, they will not release it for now:
Unfortunately, the game did not yet make back what we put into it. We have a policy of stringent QA testing before pushing releases, and we do not have the space in our budget to QA test the patch so we can push it out.
