Wario’s New Voice Actor Reportedly Confirmed To Be Kevin Afghani

A few months back, we learned that Charles Martinet would no longer be voicing Wario as of WarioWare: Move It!, stepping down from the role in the same way he stepped back from voicing Mario and Luigi.

Since then, the question of who would be voicing Wario moving forward has been lingering in the minds of many. Thanks to Eurogamer, we seemingly have confirmation of who will be taking on the role. According to the outlet, the voice actor for Wario is none other than Kevin Afghani, who voiced Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. The outlet reports that Kevin Afghani’s name appears in the credits of WarioWare: Move It! as “Principal Performer”, of which the most obvious interpretation is that he is the new voice of Wario.

Although not a direct confirmation, it would not be too surprising if Afghani is indeed the new voice of Wario. Similar to Martinet before him, it could be that Nintendo intends to have Mario and all Mario adjacent characters voiced by the same actor. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
