Following the announcement of Nintendo working with three big marketplace operators in Japan to prevent fraudulent Nintendo Switch 2 listings, Yahoo! Auctions Japan has put out an important announcement regarding Switch 2 auction listings.

The company has announced that for the time being, they will be banning the auction listings of all Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, with effect from the system’s launch on June 5, 2025. This does not affect auctions for Nintendo Switch 2 games and accessories.

It was also mentioned that Yahoo Auctions will suspend accounts found to have broken this rule.

The company has not decided an end date for this measure, which was put in place to stop scalpers from selling their Switch 2 consoles to the mass market. This measure will also apply to the Yahoo Flea Market app.
