During Nintendo Treehouse Live, Game Freak director Junichi Masuda revealed how the candy system works in Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee.

Similar to smartphone app Pokemon GO, players can send their spare Pokemon to the professor in exchange for candy. However, the candy that trainers receive are different from Pokemon GO – they can be used to boost the different stats (attack, defense, etc) of your Pokemon.
