To celebrate Dragon Quest’s 34th anniversary, series creator Yuji Horii took a photo of the game on Nintendo Switch and wrote a special message to fans.

The series creator thanked fans for helping to realize Dragon Quest’s 34 years, and looked back at the time where he was astonished by the Dragon King, which is something he feels nostalgic about:

ドラゴンクエスト34歳の誕生日、ありがとうございます。当時、竜王に初めて会ったとき、なんて言われるのが、1番びっくりするだろうと考えたのが、「味方になれば世界の半分をお前にやろう」でした。ボク的には、犯人はヤス、に続く流れでした。思い起こすと、いろいろ懐かしいです。#ドラクエの日 pic.twitter.com/haz5BBCH5z
