About 550,000 Nintendo Switch 2 systems could have been allocated to My Nintendo Store Japan’s first lottery, which received 2.2 million entries.

Thanks to 15,687 responses on three different Twitter polls, we can tell what the success rate of the lottery was and subsequently, the number of allocated units.

According to the polls, the standalone Nintendo Switch 2 Japanese-Language System had a success rate of 24.6%, while the Mario Kart World Japanese-Language System set had a slightly higher success rate of 25.3%.

The Multi-Language System, which costs 20,000 yen higher and supports all languages and Nintendo Account regions, had a 56.7% success rate, significantly higher than the Japanese-Language Systems. It was estimated that only 2.2% applied for the Multi-Language System.

Extrapolating the success rate (25%) against the 2.2 million ballots received in the Nintendo Switch 2 lottery, it is safe to assume that 550,000 consoles were allocated to the first pre-order lottery organized by My Nintendo Store Japan.

While the 25% success rate may seem low, it is important to note that it is significantly higher than success rates for past pre-order lotteries such as the Nintendo Switch OLED model, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo, which had success rates in the 0.1% to 3% range across different Japanese retailers at launch.
