Detective Pikachu Artist Shares Concept Art From Scrapped Museum Scene
Thanks to realistic Pokemon artist RJ Palmer, we now know what the scrapped museum scene from Detective Pikachu could have looked like.
As it turns out, RJ Palmer was the one who originally pitched the idea for a museum scene while working on Detective Pikachu. According to Palmer, his main goal was to shine a spotlight on various fossil Pokemon, particularity his favorite Pokemon Tyrantrum.
Although the scene itself didn’t quite make it into the film, Palmer recently decided to share what he came up with on Twitter, giving us a detailed look into what could have been.
Check it all out below:

During my time on Detective Pikachu I really wanted a museum in there so I could paint some fossil Pokemon. This was part of a bit where a museum guide would cheekily scare some kids with Tyrantrum that's actually a Ditto. Its always a treat painting my favorite Pokemon. pic.twitter.com/pkNsVFmJOw

Here's a few things I worked on to fill out the museum with Pokemon related artifacts. It was super cool to see a version of the deity Pokemon statues in the office of Bill Nighy's character in the movie. You can see more detail here: https://t.co/g4sYf7aTG3 pic.twitter.com/DdFvRJ2MvH
