Mary Skelter 2 For Switch Receives More Trailers, Which Highlight Purification Minigame
It looks like Mary Skelter 2 for Nintendo Switch is primed to continue Compile Heart’s tryst with questionably lewd gameplay.
The developer has been releasing several new gameplay trailers which feature the “Purification” minigame. The minigame in question has players rubbing down the game’s female cast to clear away blood from their bodies – and granting them in-game buffs thereafter.
Check them out below (warning: highly suggestive).

These promotional trailers set an interesting precedent for the game’s western release on Switch in the future. The original PS4 version of Mary Skelter 2 launched without issues in Japan, but saw localization kerfuffles when it went to China in 2018.
Reportedly, the Chinese PS4 version saw a strong mandate from Sony’s increasingly aggressive content policies on sexual content – which forced its developers to hastily disable the minigame with a post-launch patch. As the minigame was integral for temporary stat boosts in battle, however, its exclusion essentially broke the game’s balance.
With the minigame launching uncensored for Nintendo Switch in Japan, the big question now is whether it will also make it over to the west without any changes. If it does, the Switch version could become the definitive way to play Mary Skelter 2 in English – since it never saw a western release on PS4 or PC.
We’ll report back if Idea Factory International offers any confirmation in the future.
