Amazon Prime Video Will Discontinue Service For Wii U September 26
Another bites the dust.
A post on Resetera shows an email that Prime Video users have been receiving informing them of the upcoming end, and offering $25 credit towards buying specific Fire TV devices which would serve as a replacement for people who want to continue streaming.
This comes shortly after the expected release of the Switch Lite.
“We are continually upgrading our service and this occasionally means we can no longer support certain device models,” states the email.
“To help you continue streaming your favorite content, we’re offering you a $25 credit towards select Fire TV devices which will allow you to continue to stream your favorites from Prime Video.”
Wii U user will still have access to services such as Netflix, YouTube and Hulu.
Since Amazon Prime Video isn’t on Switch, the Fire TV option might be the best way to go. We still have yet to see Netflix on Switch either so if it discontinue service on Wii U, Switch users will have to wait until the app comes to the console.
