As with most games in the series, Pokemon Scarlet And Violet features some version exclusive Pokemon that can only be caught in one version of the game and not the other.

Violet Exclusive

That said, there are a few ways to obtain exclusives without owning both copies of the game, although they still require multiplayer access with via Switch Online or local Co-Op:
- By participating in Raids for Version Exclusive Pokemon, which anyone can join regardless of what version they have.
- By playing co-op multiplayer with someone with the opposite version of you.
