Tencent and Nintendo have released an official localisation for Yokai Watch 4++ on China.

The digital version of the game was released on August 2nd 2023, with a physical release planned for sometime in the future. As with all Switch games brought over to China, it is only accessible on the Switch consoles distributed in China by Tencent. The upcoming physical release will also have this restriction, and this release as a whole only supports Simplified Chinese as a language option.

Similar to the Japanese version, this release of Yokai Watch 4++ will include all major content updates released for the original game.  In addition, the official news article states that free bonus codes for the game will be released via its Switch news channel. One such code is Z4DLLYPPZN, which will allow players to challenge and recruit the Yokai Damona after reaching the right point in the game.

The localization also includes a number of changes from the game’s release in other regions, reportedly to comply with China’s censorship laws. Twitter account ChineseNintendo has documented some of these changes in several posts, some of which you can view below:

The Jinta/Jingeki Boss Yokai was changed from a human body model to a humanoid robot. The name of the Yokai was also changed from "Advancing Weirdo" (进击怪人) to "Mechanical Humanoid (机械型人).
