Scalpers In Shambles After Pokemon Center Announces Make-To-Order Sale For PIKACHU DINER Series

Late last month, The Pokemon Company announced an eye-catching official Pokemon Center merchandise line called PIKACHU DINER.

This particular line of merchandise caught the attention of many people and went viral in Japan because of its classic Chubby Pikachu design. Many Pokemon fans and customers were worried that scalpers will buy up all the stock and resell for a huge profit, so they had been begging The Pokemon Company to open make-to-order sales for the products in the series.

While all Pokemon Center locations in Japan released the PIKACHU DINER series last Saturday (July 5), it was very difficult for fans to get their hands on the products, as these Pokemon Center locations carried out a lottery to decide who gets to enter the Pokemon Center to purchase these products on launch day. As a result, resale prices for products in the PIKACHU DINER series soared on flea market sites.

Fortunately, The Pokemon Company has listened to feedback on the ground and announced that, after stock for the PIKACHU DINER series plushies and mascots run out, they will immediately start taking make-to-order orders for them. As for the other products in the series, they have also promised that they will restock them in the future, though no make-to-order sale has been planned for them.

This is obviously bad news for scalpers reselling PIKACHU DINER series plushies and mascots, as they will be readily available for anyone who wants them through the make-to-order sale.
