In a few weeks time, the Pokemon franchise will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary, and many fans are wondering what special announcements could be waiting in the winds.

Riddler Khu, a prominent leaker in the community that has shared correct info in the past, has taken to social media to tease one of the announcements. In typical cryptic fashion, the leaker shared the boxart for Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, saying that “They will return soon”.

Fans have taken this hint to mean that Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen will be re-released on modern consoles this year to celebrate the 30th Anniversary, either as standalones or as part of the Switch Online’s Game Boy Advance service. At the time of this writing however, The Pokemon Company has yet to make any announcement of the sorts. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
