Square Enix has officially announced DRAGON QUEST XI S: Echoes Of An Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is releasing for Switch 2.

The Definitive Edition of the latest Dragon Quest game will release on September 24th 2026 for Switch 2, and will include the following:

• New story chapters where the party members take center stage
• Japanese voices and additional English voices
• The ability to switch between 3D and 2D mode
• An orchestral score
• All new optimization modes, allowing you to prioritize graphics or performance

There will also be a physical release for the game on Switch 2 in Japan, however, it will be a Game-Key card.
