Square Enix has officially announced DRAGON QUEST XI S: Echoes Of An Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is releasing for Switch 2.

The Definitive Edition of the latest Dragon Quest game will release on September 24th 2026 for Switch 2, and will include the following updates:

• New story chapters where the party members take center stage
• Japanese voices and additional English voices
• The ability to switch between 3D and 2D mode
• An orchestral score
• All new optimization modes, allowing you to prioritize graphics or performance

There will also be a physical release for the game on Switch 2, however, it will be a Game-Key card.
