Square Enix has released a demo for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World.

The demo is available for both Switch and Switch 2, and will allow players to experience the opening moments of the game up until the end of Witherwood. While it seems progress cannot be fully transferred, players with save data from the demo will receive a bonus item set as well as be able to bring over up to 8 of their monsters from the demo to the full version.

The free playable demo of DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World allows you to experience the game from the start of the story up to the conclusion of events in Witherwood as you get to grips with recruiting, raising, and synthesizing monsters. For playing the demo, you can receive an item set for use in the full game. And, if you keep your save data from the demo, you’ll be able to transfer up to 8 monsters from your main party and reserves into the full game.

*Only monsters of rank G and rank F can be befriended in the demo.
*Bonus content cannot be claimed in the demo.
