In a recent Game Informer interview, Square Enix division executive Tomoya Asano revealed that the company has made the team that developed Octopath Traveler a division completely devoted to making original titles for Nintendo Switch.

Asano added that if Octopath Traveler does well, the company would like to focus on Nintendo Switch. He then advises fans to pick up a Switch and copy of Octopath Traveler. And of course, Square Enix is now working on multiple titles for Switch, which have yet to be revealed.

Square Enix has decided that it wants to focus on original titles for the Switch. If Octopath Traveler does well and this is something that appeals to fans, we want to focus on Switch. Please pick up the Switch if you want to play games like Octopath Traveler. There are several other titles that we’re currently working on for Switch.
