A Redditor has shared an amazing experience they had with their Nintendo Switch that miraculously survived a fire that started at home.

According to Smooth_Awareness_698, one year ago a fire started in their house, and the Nintendo Switch was in the room where the fire started. As most of the items in the room were severely damaged or destroyed, they was surprised to find that the Nintendo Switch survived the fire. The Redditor suspects that’s because a TV blocked the Switch from the brunt of the damage.

While they weren’t expecting the Nintendo Switch to be working after the fire given the damage to its exterior, they were shocked when the battery indicator appeared on the screen after they started charging it. To their amazement, the Nintendo Switch powered on, the screen was mostly working, it can read cartridges and microSD cards, and it can still used in TV mode and connect to the internet.

Later, the Redditor brought out the pair of Animal Crossing: New Horizons Joy-Con out of the box, which were undamaged from the fire.
