It looks like Animal Crossing fans will be receiving more amiibo fun in the future!

Following today’s Nintendo Direct, the official Japanese Animal Crossing Twitter account announced that Series 5 of the Animal Crossing amiibo cards is now in the works. While there are no further details for now, Nintendo promised to share more information in the future.
