As of July 26, 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons lifetime sales reached 5,280,398 units in Japan, surpassing lifetime totals for both Nintendo 3DS’s Animal Crossing: New Leaf (5.1 million) and the Nintendo DS’s Animal Crossing: Wild World (5.24 million). It took 4 months for the game to reach this milestone.
