Animal Crossing: New Horizons Now Highest Selling Physical Game Release In Japan
Four years after its release, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has broken a new record in Japan.
According to data published by Famitsu, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has crossed 8 million units in lifetime physical game sales in Japan, becoming the highest selling physical game release of all time in the country. The previous record holder was Pokemon Red/Green, which achieved 7.93 million units sold.
This news comes shortly after Pokemon Scarlet/Violet broke the record of becoming the highest selling Pokemon games of all time in Japan, although Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘ achievement is arguably much more impressive. Whether or not this record will be broken again in the future remains to be seen.
