In a new interview with Etrain Odyssey series producer Shigeo Komori, Komori reveals that he is working on a new Etrain Odyssey game.
Komori says that the next Etrian Odyssey title will have a “festival-like” feel. Here are his full comments on the next title.
In order to meet the expectations of these fans, I would like to deliver a “festival”-like game that can be said to be another culmination [of the series]. That’s the feeling I have, and I am currently developing a new game.
He also states that the next title he’s working on will be the last Etrian Odyssey title to make use of the Nintendo 3DS’s bottom screen.
This is the last game in the series that will have a map to be drawn on the bottom screen on the Nintendo 3DS. For specifics, I hope that you can wait until the day when we can officially announce it.
If that’s the case, the next game after Etrian Odyssey V could very well be the final Etrian Odyssey on Nintendo 3DS.
It’s almost time to make the switch.
