Backing Up Save Data On Switch Now Possible Through Homebrew
Ever since the launch of Nintendo Switch 13 months ago, one of the most highly requested functions that Nintendo still hasn’t delivered yet is the ability to backup save files.
A solution has been successfully found today, thanks to hacker Bernardo Giordano. The computer engineer has successfully performed save backup and restore operations through the use of Checkpoint, a homebrew application for Nintendo Switch.
Giordano said the source code for Checkpoint will be released later this year for the benefit of other Nintendo Switch owners.
To access homebrew, you’ll need a Nintendo Switch on firmware version 3.0.0, so that is out of the realm for most people now.
