Dessert chain Baskin Robbins has celebrated a major sales milestone in Japan.

On August 31, 2019, Baskin Robbins recorded its highest ever sales since the first location was opened in Japan in 1974 (this excludes sales made on Christmas). The company generated 400,000,000 yen (USD3.75 million) in sales in just one day.

The 31st of every month is an important day for Baskin Robbins Japan, as items are 31% off on the 31st of every month.

The company attributed this success to their Pokemon collaboration with The Pokemon Company, as the Pokemon ice-cream and ice-cream cakes are selling like hot cakes. The campaign has been extended to September 13, 2019.
