Nintendo has announced a very strange piece of news in Japan – Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are going to be removed from the Wii U eShop.
Sales for both Bayonetta titles will cease on the Wii U eShop on September 18, 2019 11:59pm JST. No similar announcement has been made by Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe yet. The removal of both titles will not affect sales of both games on Nintendo Switch.
While many have found this strange, this could be because of an expiring contract between Nintendo and PlatinumGames, and there is probably no incentive for both companies to renew since most sales are made on Nintendo Switch.
