In a new interview between Bethesda Vice President Pete Hines and The Metro, Hines revealed how Bethesda is working with Nintendo behind the scenes.
The Vice President revealed Bethesda has indeed talked to Nintendo about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. As to what was discussed and whether a Bethesda character is making an appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Hines did not divulge anything.
Hines was also asked whether we’d see a crossover project by Bethesda and Nintendo, similar to how Ubisoft and Nintendo teamed up to make the highly successful Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Regarding that matter, here’s what he said:
“We’re always having conversations with them, but again those conversations wouldn’t necessarily take place with me, they’d take place with a dev to say, ‘We have an idea for a this or a that and we wanna do a game that is a crossover with the Switch.”
So it looks like anything is possible as long as there’s common ground between both companies and their IPs. Let’s hope we get to see Bethesda and Nintendo working more closely in the future.
