Hackers have started spreading mystery bags that contain hacked items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

If you happen to open any of these hacked mystery bags, you will end up with a hacked item that you couldn’t get rid of, effectively blocking a slot in your pocket. As there is no fix for these hacked items at this time, you should not open any mystery bags that are left by strangers.

These items can't be placed, dropped, sold, wrapped, recycled, given away (villager, mail, …), etc.
For security, unwrap the presents before the auto-save so you can quit in case you have been gifted one of these.
