Bonus Stages And Time Attack Coming To Sonic Mania

SEGA has revealed Bonus Stages and a Time Attack mode will be included inside Sonic Mania.

In Blue Spheres (aka Bonus Stages), players will have to navigate through a series of blue spheres to complete the stage. Touching a blue sphere turns it red, and touching a red sphere will end the bonus stage. A Silver Medallion will be rewarded for completing the bonus stage, and a Gold Medallion for collecting all of the rings and blue spheres.

In Time Attack, players compete for the fastest speed to clear a stage. The time will be recorded in Sonic Mania’s online leaderboard.

Besides Bonus Stages and Time Attack, there’s more info on Special Stages too. In Special Stages, “players chase down enemy UFOs to secure various Chaos Emeralds. Collecting blue spheres along the way will give their character an added boost of speed to their meter. Once the meter fills up, the Mach level increases.”
