Capcom has issued an official clarification regarding the reports that Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings Of Ruin would require a large additional download on Switch.
To recap, the reports originally arose from a notice on the back of the Monster Hunter Stories 2 physical box, which stated that the game would require an additional download of “at least 15GB”. Naturally, this led to some concerns about what this download could be, and if it would be mandatory to play the game.
In an official Twitter post, Capcom explained that the physical version of Monster Hunter Stories 2 will not require any additional downloads or installations to play on Switch. Although, it will require a 0.5GB Day-1 patch, this is nowhere near the whopping 15GB from the reports.
At the time of this writing, Capcom has yet to address the actual notice printed on the Monster Hunter Stories 2 box, although it is possible that it was just a misprint. Nevertheless, it is good to get some form of official clarification from Capcom about the issue. We will report back with more details should they become available.
