Did you know that Monolith Soft, the developers of the Xenoblade Chronicles series, are now around three times bigger than they were just 8 years ago? Thanks to some observant fans, you can now get a birds-eye view of the company’s growing workforce in summarized form!
Some folks from the fan-blog Switchsoku have compiled an interesting graph which highlights the company’s officially-publicized staff figures over the years. As you’ll see below, it covers everything since 2007 – when Nintendo first acquired Monolith Soft from Bandai Namco.
There’s definitely an interesting story happening behind those figures, especially where they start rising from 2016 onward. Since the massive success of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on the Switch, Monolith Soft has been hiring many developers to work on new RPG projects – including the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.
With the company practically ballooning in staff nowadays, however – it’s anyone’s guess what other games the studio is working on. We’ll definitely report back whenever the company makes a move.
