Last year, Nintendo purchased a new plot of land to construct a new Development Center for R&D purposes, targeting a December 2027 completion date.
According to a new report from Nikkei, it seems that Nintendo will not be able to meet this goal, and the building now has an estimated completion date of “2028 or later”. This is reportedly due to an “Expansion Plan”, whereby the original 12-story building will be increased to 13 floors or more, meant to “long-term increase in development personnel” according to machine translation.
This delay is arguably a good thing for Nintendo, as it implies that they will be able to expand their operations much further than they originally planned, which could only be beneficial for its games and products. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
