Data Breach Confirms There Is Only One Switch 2 Game Card Size And The System’s Original Release Window

A data breach of Japanese publisher Arc System Works’ servers has confirmed several key information about Nintendo Switch 2.

First, the data breach has confirmed that there is indeed only one Game Card size for Nintendo Switch 2, which is 64GB. This explains why many third-party publishers are opting to go with Game-Key Cards instead.

Next, documentation from the data breach also seems to suggest that the Nintendo Switch 2 was planned to launch in March 2025. This, however, obviously didn’t materialize as it’s going to launch on June 5, 2025.

Finally, the internal code names for digital games, 64GB Game Cards, and Game-Key Cards have been revealed:

• [DL] Digital game only

• [64GB] Cartridge with full game

• [POTION] Game-Key Card

It’s worth noting that the POTION codename aligns with the POT platform code for Game-Key Cards, which confirms that the information in the data breach is real.
