Like many movies, it looks like Detective Pikachu had its fair share of scrapped ideas.
In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, the film’s co-writer Dan Hernandez revealed one such scene which was left on the cutting room floor. Namely, it featured a museum where the main cast would encounter even more Pokemon!
“There was a sequence at one point that I was very excited about that was going to be in a Pokemon natural history museum. It seemed like this city would have a museum of some kind. There were a lot of different Pokemon represented in that sequence as well.”
This would have certainly been a nice chunk of fan-service for Pokemon fans out there. It’s a small pity that it probably did not fit well into the story that the Hernandez eventually went forward with. Maybe we’ll see this idea revived in the film’s rumored sequel.
In any case, the Detective Pikachu movie is already live in theaters worldwide. We’ll report back when more news about the movie flows in.
