Disney Reportedly Regains Rights To Pokemon Anime From August 2026
Some interesting news has surfaced about the Pokemon anime series distribution outside of Japan.
According to unofficial Disney news account The Disney Beat, the media conglomerate has regained the broadcast rights to the Pokemon anime. The account goes on to claim that episodes of the anime be broadcast on the Disney Channel and DisneyXD starting August 6th, and become available on Disney+ after a 1 day gap.
At the time of this writing, Netflix is still airing episodes of the latest Pokemon Horizons anime season on their platform. Presumably, this implies that Disney has only regained the rights to the classic seasons of the Pokemon anime series, although it appears official info is still not available. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
