E3 2021 Receives First Details About Online Portal And App
The ESA has revealed the first details about E3 2021’s online portal and app, both of which will be acting as hubs for this year’s online event.
The portal and app will be open to the media first on June 7th, allowing them to get early access to E3’s exhibitors with tools for chatting and scheduling appointments. The public version will open later on on June 12th, and include access to the following:
- Exhibitor Booths – Featuring special events, VOD content and articles, exhibitor booths will act as hubs within the portal for key announcements and game information tied to each exhibitor.
- Lounges – Online gathering spots for all E3 attendees.
- Forums – Special boards for focused online discussion and sharing among attendees.
- Leaderboards – Gamified show elements that can be collected and displayed, encouraging fans to interact in as many ways as possible.
- Profile Creation – All attendees can create their own unique profiles within the portal and app, which can be customized.
In addition, the portal and app will also be hosting an E3 live broadcast with interactive overlays such as viewer polls, featured tweets, and more. The broadcast will be hosted by Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez, Jacki Jing, and Greg Miller, and will feature “major publisher showcases, press conferences, industry panels, extended livestreams and special guest appearances”.
Registration for the media and public versions of the portal and app will begin later this month, with more details available on E3’s website here.
