Last week, Electronic Arts confirmed that EA Sports FC 24 would release on Switch the same time as other platforms, as opposed to the “Legacy” edition reskins that the console has received in the past.
Speaking IGN, John Shepherd, VP, Executive Producer at Electronic Arts went on to confirm that the Switch version of the game will be on par with the Xbox One and PS4 versions, including all of the modes. Shepherd describes this as a “huge achievement”, although there will still be one or two differences such as a lack of cross-play.
“It’s going to have all the modes. It’s more representative of the Xbox One, PS4 gameplay, than it would be the PlayStation 5, latest-gen gameplay. There are a few differences, just because of the hardware, but the game’s running great.
That’s been multiple years, just trying to get that working really nicely on Switch. We were reviewing it with Nintendo not too long ago. Everyone’s really excited about it.
It was a collaboration not just with FC, but across EA. We had to get a lot of Frostbite support to get everything working on Switch. It’s a huge achievement, honestly.”
In addition, a new deep dive gameplay trailer was also shared, which you can view below:
