Earlier this week, Devolver Digital, publisher of award winning 2D platformer GRIS, complained that Facebook shot down their ad due to an “sexually suggestive” image.
After a massive uproar, the social media company has spoken to Polygon to give their side of the story. The real problem Facebook had with the advertisement wasn’t the image that appeared in the GRIS trailer, but rather, a link to Devolver Digital’s Instagram account.
Facebook explained that the publisher’s Instagram account contained nudity, hence they felt it was unsafe and didn’t want anyone to see that. Sounds like a simple issue Devolver Digital will be able to fix.
