In an interview by Dream Team FC with EA Sports, supervising producer of FIFA 18’s World Cup Mode Andrei Lazarescu told the outlet a few details on the upcoming FIFA 19 game.
Lazarescu said FIFA 19 will feature “vastly improved graphics” on Nintendo Switch. However, EA Sports will continue to use the custom built engine they have made for FIFA 18 Switch in FIFA 19 Switch.
“The intent was never to have a one-off custom engine that were never going to touch again,” Lazarescu explained. “It was to have that as a baseline and then build from there.”
Although FIFA 19 will continue to use the custom engine, Lazarescu didn’t rule out using Frostbite for future FIFA titles after FIFA 19.
