Last year, financial analysts and some investors believed that Nintendo will fail to meet their goal to sell 20 million Nintendo Switch consoles by the end of this financial year ending March 2019.
Now it seems they have changed their tune as some of these analysts believe the company will hit their goal by the end of March. The reason is because holiday demand for hardware and software have been “unexpectedly good”. Some analysts have also projected the Switch moved 11 million systems during the holiday season.
We will have a better look at how Nintendo performed during the holiday season when results for the third financial quarter of 2018/2019 are published on January 31, 2019. In the first two quarters, Nintendo sold 6.95 million consoles, so a 11 million console boost would really help if true.
