Fukuda Hiroyuki, best known as the President of Nintendo’s Korean subsidiary, has now become the Chairman of Nintendo Hong Kong.
Hiroyuki served as the third President of Nintendo of Korea since July 2011. You may have seen him in several Korean Nintendo Directs. Hiroyuki oversaw the localization of many Nintendo 3DS games into Korean as well as a turbulent time for the company when it laid off almost all of its staff.
As of today, Hiroyuki has been dispatched by Nintendo to lead operations at Nintendo Hong Kong, overseeing both the Hong Kong and Taiwan markets. This marks a new chapter of Nintendo’s development in Hong Kong and Taiwan. It’s currently unclear who will take over Hiroyuki’s job in South Korea.
