Kyoto News recently interviewed Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa in the beginning of 2019.
In the interview, the paper asked Furukawa whether Nintendo will succeed in its goal to sell 20 million Nintendo Switch consoles by the end of this financial year. Furukawa replied that he doesn’t have an actual number but Nintendo is closely monitoring sales trends during the end of year and new year holiday season.
Moving on, Furukawa said the Switch is soon approaching its 3rd anniversary on March 3, and it will be more important than ever to deliver “fresh” software to consumers. The President also said he wants to highlight the versatility of the Switch (play on the go, play at home) to consuemrs in its third year.
