Shinya Arino, a member of the comedic video game duo Yoiko that is recently playing Nintendo games on Youtube, has made an interesting statement that went viral on Twitter.
When asked by a fan what kind of smartphone games he should play, Arino told the fan the following:
“I don’t do (play) apps (smartphone games), because there are no endings (to them).”
Japanese gamers considered Arino’s statement a major condemnation towards smartphone games, which are known for microtransactions. Arino’s “because there are no endings” statement is also a reference to one of his wise sayings:
Q: “Why should I play a game to that extent?”
Arino: “Because the game has an ending!”
And yes, his wise words have been made into an official T-shirt:
